The person responsible for operating and maintaining all main propulsion and auxiliary machinery on the vessel, and is knowledgeable of the boat's operational readiness and any limitations imposed by planned/unplanned outages. Working a 2 week on 2 week off rotation.
- Responsible for the Engineering room
- Responsible for maintenance of all vessel equipment and systems
- Ensures that the equipment is maintained to ABS, company,
and Coast Guard requirements
- Ensures that records of maintenance are maintained
- Reports machinery deficiencies and repair requests to the Master & maintenance division
- Requests Engine Room Spares/Stores
- Identify and remedy (if possible) any defect to the vessel’s
machinery/systems
- Designated Person In Charge of Fuel Oil transfers and bunkering
- Responsible for fueling, lubing and watering the boat in accordance with proper procedures and within the constraints of federal, state and local regulations
- Proper discharge of slops/bilges/sewage and solid waste in accordance with the Waste Disposal Plan
- Completes logbook and other engine related records
- Performs maintenance duties as required by the Master, Port
Engineer, Marine Superintendent
- Operates machinery/systems as required
- Line Handling, assisting deckhands.
