Albion Llewellyn is an accomplished Associate Professor and Master Mariner with over 18 years of maritime expertise, including a decade of sea service operating cruise ships and drill ships. He brings specialized knowledge in Dynamic Positioning operations, ship stability, and shipyard project management to both academic and professional settings. Renowned for his approachable demeanor, attention to detail, and student-centered teaching philosophy, Professor Llewellyn creates dynamic, effective learning environments that promote long-term student success. A committed advocate for maritime sustainability, he conducts research on the environmental impact of maritime assets and is actively engaged in initiatives aimed at closing the diversity gap within the maritime profession. Joe was hired as the Sports Information Director at the Academy in September of 2018. Prior to coming to Buzzards Bay, Joe held the same position at Anna Maria College in Paxton, Mass.
Before becoming a Sports Information Director, Joe spent time as an assistant baseball coach at Anna Maria College and Fitchburg State University. He also spent eight Summers working for the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League as a public address announcer and radio broadcaster as well as working for the Cape League as an official scorer.
Joe graduated with his Associate's Degree in Communications from Dean College in 2009 and returned to Dean to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Sociology in 2012.
Joe currently resides in Milford, Mass with his wife Meghan and their two sons Carl and Caden.

- Advanced Oil Tanker PIC endorsement, along with VSO ( Vessel Security Officer)
