Background:

Wayne Magee is a dynamic higher education administrator, educator and conductor whose career spans leadership development, student affairs and music education. He currently serves as the Assistant Director of Student Affairs and Residential Life at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, where he has been a cornerstone of the student affairs department since 2008. His portfolio includes overseeing student conduct,leadership development, advising student organizations, and managing crisis response and residential operations. Additionally, he serves as Director of Bands, Honor Guard and Drill Team,the organization better known as the "Pride of the Regiment" under his stewardship has garnered national acclaim performing annually in Boston, New York City and Washington D.C. coupled with numerous invitations to perform internationally.

Wayne Magee’s academic credentials include a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Wind Band Conducting from Messiah University, a Master of Science in Leadership from Northeastern University, and a Bachelor of Music, cum laude, from Youngstown State University. His education has been enriched through mentorship by esteemed conductors and musicians, and he continues to inspire students through his role as a senior lecturer at Bridgewater State University, teaching courses in Organizational Behavior and Strategic Management.

An accomplished author, Wayne wrote Tough Blows: A Life Journey Defying the Odds and has published several articles in respected academic and music education journals. He is a frequent guest conductor and presenter, with appearances at institutions such as Yale University and professional conferences like the College Band Directors National Association Eastern Division Conference.

Beyond academia, Wayne is the founder of WDM 4:13 Company, where he works as a speaker and coach, focusing on leadership and resilience. Background: Kristin McGillicuddy has 28 years of business experience in corporate business and marketing roles across a variety of industries, including maritime communications.  At KVH Industries, she worked on content, social media, advertising, PR, corporate events, and programs related to maritime connectivity, including seafarer welfare initiatives. Her maritime experience spans across both the leisure and commercial shipping sectors. She is currently a professor of practice in the graduate marketing program at Stonehill College and also directs the college’s graduate business administration programs, including data analytics, marketing, and MBA.

  • Dr. Ndlovu specializes in commercial legal principles of international trade particularly, Maritime Law/Maritime Business (main specialty) which directly includes, International Commerce, International Trade, Environmental Regulation, International Diamond Trade Law and other International Law subjects. Her research has extended to Asia Pacific trade matters, Maritime Pedagogy, the Mining of Sea Areas, employment of vessels for mining and the Law of the Sea. She has coordinated the Maritime Law and Commerce programs in different nations in service to the academic institutions she has been affiliated with during her career.
  • As a practicing maritime lawyer, Dr. Ndlovu provides consultancy services to government bodies such as the Ports Regulator in South Africa, legal compliance advice and policy advice and support to various commercial entities and law firms has sat as an arbitrator/assessor in various tribunals bringing specialized academic and practical legal knowledge of maritime business matters.

  • Capt. Ashok Pandey is a former shipmaster with a sea-career spanning more than two decades most of which was spent on ice. An avid researcher, his current areas of research interest include shipping route modelling in the Arctic using GIS and the e-navigation platform. He has spent the last ten years in academia and has lectured on various subjects including International Maritime Business, Supply Chain Management and Ship Chartering and Port Economics. He has commanded Cape size bulk carriers (ice-class) for almost a decade and specializes in high latitude navigation.

LCDR Ed Pinero joined MMA in January 2011 as Assistant Director for Student Services and assigned as 6th Company Officer.  His assignments include Director for Orientation, Coordinator for MMA’s Intramural Program and Sea Term’s

Terminal Operations.  Ed also dedicated 3 years as Assistant Coach for MMA’s football program.

Prior to MMA, Ed was the Director of Transportation for Transpro LLC, Malden, MA.  Transpro LLC is a statewide transportation company with 14 Regional Operation Centers throughout Massachusetts. 

Ed is a 2011 graduate of CONNECT, Southeastern Massachusetts Public Higher Education Collaborative Leadership Development Program, holds a B.A. in Secondary Education from the University of Puerto Rico, a commission as a US Army Officer from the ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Program) and is a graduate of the Army’s Combined Armed Services Staff School- Command and General Staff College.  He retired as an Army Transportation Officer with 20 years of service in October 2003. 

Ed has over 30 years of transportation experience both in the US Army, as a Transportation Officer, and in the private sector where he held various management positions in transportation and distribution with Target Inc., Pier 1 Imports Inc., Office Depot Inc., and CVS pharmacy in California and Rhode Island. 

During his 20 years as an Army Officer, he served in the Transportation Corp, “The Spearhead of Logistics”.  Ed’s responsibilities included the planning, directing and executing of US Department of Defense (DoD) and Foreign military operations worldwide involving the use of all modes of transportation to include rail, water, air, and surface.  As a young Captain, was selected for command of the 368thTransportation Terminal Service Company in Ft. Story, Virginia Beach where he received numerous accolades for his units’ participation and performance during DoD exercises in Honduras, Turkey, Hawaii, Philippines, Korea, and Japan.  During Operations Desert Shield & Desert Storm in the early 90’s, Ed served as Transportation Advisor to the state of Arizona’s Army National Guard and US Army Reserve transportation units deploying to and from Southwest Asia.

A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico and resident of Centerville, MA, where he lives with his wife Julie Ann.   Ed has 3 children; Eddie (30), Ali (26), and Michael (24).

  • Cliff Robbins has over thirty years of successful strategic management and marketing experience. Prior to founding his own consulting firm in 1997, he held top management positions with several organizations. He was the founder and CEO of three of his own entrepreneurial ventures. He has over fifteen years of experience as a management consultant, having advised hundreds of growth oriented entrepreneurial organizations. He is currently the senior business advisor at the University of Massachusetts Small Business Development Center. In addition to his consulting practice, Mr. Robbins has taught courses in management sciences and marketing at Bentley University and UMass- Dartmouth.  He is well known for the many white papers, seminars and workshops he has presented.
