Position:  Women’s Head Volleyball Coach

General Statement of Duties:  The Head Coach should possess the ability to effectively communicate and motivate student-athletes, as well as manage team dynamics. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: manage program administrative duties; work cohesively with Academy support departments; schedule, recruit and retain academically and athletically qualified student-athletes; organize and conduct fundraising, team building and community outreach events; monitor student-athlete’s academic progress; manage team budget per the purchasing guidelines established by the Athletic Department. The position requires the ability to demonstrate and teach volleyball-related skills and effectively communicate strategies during practices and competitions. The candidate must be knowledgeable of, and abide by, all Academy policies, NCAA Division III policies, and conference (MASCAC) requirements. This position requires long hours, evenings and weekends.

Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy
  • Coaching experience
  • Recruiting experience

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of the unique mission of a maritime academy

Start date:                   As soon as possible
