Title IX

All educational institutions in the United States receiving federal funding are required to comply with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. The Office of Equal Opportunity & Diversity is charged with ensuring the Academy is compliant with Title IX.  Complaints may be filed with either of the Title IX Coordinators listed below.

The Academy's policy on sexual harassment, sexual discrimination, sexual assault and violence, stalking and domestic violence is contained in the state universitiesEqual Opportunity, Diversity and Affirmative Action Plan. The Plan includes a summary of the statewide Title IX Policy and Complaint Procedures.   The current, approved, Plan was adopted in 2014 and includes the statewide policy against sexual harassment and discrimination.   

The Academy offers a variety of resources to those who have experienced or been affected by sexual violence, sexual harassment, gender-based harassment, domestic violence, stalking, and retaliation.

The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights is the entity that is charged with enforcing Title IX compliance.  Inquiries about these issues may also be referred to the U. S.
