Summer Swim Camp
The Cape Cod Swim Club
We are looking for competitive swimmers ages 10 to 16 who want to spend a week learning more about the best sport in the world. Participants will attend two workouts per day at our pool at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA) in Bourne. We will take day trips to local areas of interest such as Old Silver Beach and Water Wizz. Athlete lodging is located on the water-front next to the scenic Cape Cod Canal in the MMA dormitories. Meals will be served in the MMA dining hall.
The CCSC has two main goals we try to meet at each Summer Camp. First, we hope our campers leave at the end of the week having learned a lot about swimming. We will cover a huge range of topics including stroke technique, nutrition, training methods, and racing tips.
Second, we want our campers to have a good time. We try to get in a lot of fun activities. Past years' activities have included: a day at the beach, a science cruise, a relay festival, a tour of the Maritime's vessel, a night at the movies, a visiting speaker, a walk to our local ice cream shop, a cruise along the canal, a barbecue, a run-swim competition, and a bike ride along the Cape Cod Canal. We're always looking for new ideas if you've got any!
Our home for the week will be the MMA Dormitories. They are not luxury accommodations, but the rooms have water views!
The workouts we do at the camp are not difficult (for the most part). We spend most of our time working on skills.
Our pool is a 25 yard, 6 lanes, indoor facility.
