Spring 2020 Incomplete Policy Addendum
Given the extraordinary circumstances of the Spring 2020 semester, the Incomplete Grade Policy has been amended as follows:
At the student’s request, an instructor may agree to award an incomplete grade (‘I’) at the end of an academic term if the student has failed to meet a course requirement due to illness or other reasons beyond his or her control.
Students are authorized until the last day of class in the Fall 2020 semester, December 11, 2020 to rectify a grade of incomplete with their instructors who will arrange, schedule, organize, assign, and establish the terms of any make-up work or labs offered for the fall semester at his or her discretion to best fit the available resources. If the incomplete is not rectified within that period, the incomplete is automatically converted to a failure (‘F’).
Any extensions of this policy into the Spring 2021 semester will be at the discretion of the instructor of record with consultation with their Department Chair, the Dean of Undergraduate Studies, and the Provost.
The policy changes described above apply only to undergraduate courses and do not apply to graduate courses.
The traditional Incomplete Grade Policy will resume at the conclusion of the Fall 2020 semester.
