President's Message to Faculty

(March 27, 2020)
Esteemed Faculty,
I hope that this note finds you and your families safely out of harm's way. I believe that our efforts to dramatically limit on-campus contact with each other has contributed to meeting our Covid goals 1 & 2 (those being to keep our cadets, faculty and staff - and our families - safe and, second, to do our part to limit the transmission of this dreadful disease). Thank you for your efforts in that regard.
I write today, as week one of our online/distance learning effort comes to a close, to let you know what a remarkable job you have all done and, further, to let you know how much I appreciate your Herculean efforts to deliver a quality education to our amazing cadets. The Academy community is fortunate to have such talented and dedicated faculty - incredibly fortunate! What you all have accomplished with a whopping 5 days to prepare is nothing short of spectacular. I also want you to know that I am standing by to support you in any way that I can.
I will update you next week but, as you undoubtedly recognize, I do not expect that we will be bringing the students back on campus in the near term. I remain optimistic that we will turn a corner soon and I have my fingers crossed hoping that we will be in a position to run in-person academic work in time to meet goals 3 & 4 (getting our seniors to completion and minimizing the impact to the underclass).
Thank you for your great work.
My very best regards,
