Future Women in STEM
The goal of Future Women Leaders in STEM is to spotlight current female high school sophomores or juniors who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in one or more of the following areas: science, technology, engineering, and math. As a leader in STEM education, the Academy offers challenging and experiential curriculums and we realize its role in promoting the advancement of women in science, technology, engineering, and math.
To be eligible to receive the FWL in STEM Award, candidates must:

Be a female enrolled in her sophomore or junior year at a private or public high school

Demonstrate excellence and leadership in one or more STEM disciplines

Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3
Students may receive the Future Women Leaders in STEM Award, as well as, a scholarship to our Sea, Science, and Leadership Program offered in the summer. The top three recipients will be awarded the Future Women Leader Scholarship upon enrollment at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. This scholarship pays a minimum of full tuition (in-state equivalent) for one year and recipients must be in attendance at the award ceremony to receive the scholarship.
