Orientation Information

The Office of Inclusion Excellence & International Programs has designed an orientation program that meets the specific needs of International and Visiting cadets. International and Visiting cadets are asked to arrive three days before MMA's regimental orientation each semester to receive comprehensive information that will prepare them in navigating all that is Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

Important Dates

Spring 2017 International Orientation:

International Student Orientation Welcome Day: Saturday, February 18, 2017

  • Suggested Arrival Date - Friday, February 17
Immigration Basics Session:

Immigration Basics is mandatory for all international students in F or J status. You are REQUIRED to attend an Immigration Basics Session.

  • Please bring your passport, visa, I-20 or DS-2019, I-94 (If you entered the U.S. before May 2013), and your admissions letter for the session.
On-campus Living Information:

All freshmen (first year undergraduate students) and international or visiting students are required to live on-campus.

Transportation from the Airport:

Students can request airport pick up (if available) or arrange bus transportation. If you would like to arrange airport pick up, please send an e-mail with DETAILED flight information (Airline, flight number, and time of arrival) to mmedina@maritime.edu. This must be done 30 days in advance.

If direct airport pick is unavailable, the following bus companies
will bring you to a stop near campus (The nearest stops are Buzzards
Bay, Bourne, or Sagamore):

The buses will drop you off a few miles from the school. You
must send an e-mail with DETAILED bus information (Bus company, drop-off
location, and time of arrival) to mmedina@maritime.edu to arrange transportation from bus drop-off point to campus

The CapeFlyer (train) is also available during the fall at a limited schedule until September 1st.
