A Career Day
The Fall 2019 Career Fair, held on October 10th was a major success with a record breaking 150 employer and partner organizations participating, the biggest to date! Though MMA feels it has been lucky to experience such an increase in attendees at the bi-annual event, with more job opportunities and a growing reputation, it can expect more of the same in the future. Twenty of those employers conducted on site interviews for full time or Cooperative Education positions the following day.
A majority of the student body came to the Fair with both high energy and expectations. Students were excited to have the opportunity to learn more about the companies and industries MMA serves, practice their networking skills, and grow their professional networks. New to this event were several companies in the marine transportation, ship operations, construction, and energy fields. The presenters enjoyed showcasing their organizations and learning about Mass Maritime's students.
The Academy often receives positive feedback from these visiting employers who are quick to point out the professionalism, eagerness, respectfulness, and confidence in the students, often mentioning that "there are no other college students like Mass Maritime's."
