Maritime Day

In 1933, Congress established May 22nd as National Maritime Day to recognize the contributions and sacrifices of the United States Merchant Marine.  Each year Massachusetts Maritime Academy celebrates National Maritime Day; paying tribute to our country’s maritime heritage and honoring Merchant Marines past, present and future, by showcasing the Regiment of Cadets at the annual Change of Command ceremony.

With flags flying, the one thousand five hundred cadets of Massachusetts Maritime Academy will march into Clean Harbors Athletic Stadium to honor their own.  The Change of Command ceremony signifies the transfer of Regimental leadership from one class to the next.  Congratulations to the Class of 2018 on their exemplary achievements and we look forward to impressive accomplishments from the Class of 2019.
