Supervisor/Safety rep' of a sanblasting and paitning crew.
We need a supervisor to oversee sandblasting and painting operations in a shipyard environment. The yard does everything from new construction to repair work of active vessels. Our current labor force is between 10-20 personnel. New hire is expected to learn from current management the people, process, and procedures of working at this particular location. Pay rate is hourly, long days or secound shift scheduling will be necessary. Expertise in sandblasting and painting is not required.
Check on foreman and labor during your shift. Make sure personnel are working safely and have appropriate PPE and/or safety procedures. Keep a schedule of the current work and help plan the upcoming schedule. Ensure that Amex equipment is being used properly. Interface with shipyard and client personnel to include supervisor, foreman, and safety professionals. Make sure paint, supplies, disposal of grit, and new grit is ordered/done correctly.
