Full Job Description

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist engineering management in the design, implementation and installation of engineering business processes. Coordinate activities with other internal departments and external resources to resolve concerns in the engineering department. Monitor vessel compliance records and regulatory documentation to ensure these are updated in NS5 and SharePoint. Perform analytical work to formulate logistics plans for all dry docks, write change orders and track costing for drydocks and out of service periods. Maintain, improve and create SharePoint sites and ensure best online practices are followed. Create analytical reports related to inventory, budgets, dry-dock planning for ATB engineering department. Provide assistance to port engineers, managers and directors within the department as necessary.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or maritime business. Associate's degree and equal experience may be substituted for education. Maritime Academy Graduate preffered.

EXPERIENCE: 3+ years of maritime industry experience required with general knowledge of basic business analytics.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, SharePoint, Outlook and Word.

COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external business partners. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop changes or alternatives. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Ability to compile, review and reconcile data accuracy, completeness and compliance. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills. Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, policies, procedures, correspondences and other written materials. Ability to identify or forecast potential issues in the role that could affect the department and organization. Knowledge of methods to collect data, research and present.

OTHER: Limited travel may be required.

JOB SCOPE: Position impacts a single business unit/segment.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works both inside an office environment and also outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.
