TEAM SAYRES is seeking a Naval Architect to support United States Navy Program Office that is responsible for managing and developing the Navy's newest surface combatant (FFG X). The position requires:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Marine or Naval Architecture preferred).
Secret Clearance verifiable in JPAS or the ability to obtain one.

The ideal candidate for this position would have:
Master's degree in marine engineering or naval architecture and 5 years' experience in Naval Architecture with a secret clearance.
Additionally, recent college graduates with bachelor's in engineering degree are eligible for this position but will have to apply, qualify for, and gain a secret clearance.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Providing analysis on ship hulls and superstructures,
Studying design products and specifications to establish basic characteristics of a ship, such as size, weight, and speed, leading teams from a variety of specialties to oversee building and testing prototypes,
Evaluating how ships perform during trials, both at dock and at sea, and changing designs as needed to make sure national and international standards are met.
