Essential Responsibilities:
In addition, as the LATO EHS Leader, you will:

Develop new Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs as required

Lead the validation of health, safety and environmental Frameworks to ensure 100% compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
Drive improvements in site EHS culture, awareness, and accountability

Lead efforts to operationalize EHS at site

Ensure site personnel understand and comply with all environmental permits

Plan and conduct EHS training

Oversee compliance assurance program, perform site audits, and lead efforts with management team to implement corrective actions

Conduct incident / accident investigations and develop corrective and preventative action plans

Maintain EHS expertise to provide technical and regulatory support to Operations team

Maintain site EHS metrics and work cooperatively with EHS HQ on various projects and initiatives, including GHG reduction, sustainability, and culture change
Complete Six Sigma projects to reduce defects and cost

Act as primary liaison with regulatory agencies concerning all EHS issues

Understand regulatory changes and trends and forecast site impacts

Actively contribute to the direction and content of site EHS programs

Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Fixed Facilities
Minimum of 2 years experience leading EHS efforts
Desired Characteristics:
Lean or Six Sigma experience
Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Ability to influence others and lead small teams

Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact

Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously

Effective problem identification and solution skills

Proven analytical and organizational ability
