For over 100 years, Massachusetts Maritime Academy has been preparing women and men for exciting and rewarding careers on land and sea. As the nation's finest co-ed maritime college, MMA challenges students to succeed by balancing a unique regimented lifestyle with a typical four-year college environment. As a member of the cadet corps you will live, study, sail, work and play in an atmosphere that encourages you to be your best.
My experience at Massachusetts Maritime Academy has been extremely rewarding. From internships and cooperatives, networking, and academics, they have all helped me pursue a career in Emergency Management. The Emergency Management program provides its students with hands-on experience to carry on into the working world. Employers were very pleased with my networking experience, international relief efforts in Ile a Vache, Haiti, and my final senior project with creating an active-shooter tabletop exercise. The curriculum and regimental experience significantly separated me from other college students to be a successful and dedicated Emergency Manager.
I am currently the Emergency Management Specialist for AC Disaster Consulting. AC Disaster Consulting is a minority and woman-owned business enterprise. Being a part of an independently woman-owned business inspired me as that is hard to come by in the world of Emergency Management. AC Disaster Consulting provides consulting services to local, state, federal, and industry clients, active in disaster response, recovery, and preparedness. My daily duties include business development, social media application, and program administration. I love the company I work for; the work environment is diverse and contributes to the valuable experience everyone brings to the table.
