General Statement of Duties: Come join us in our mission to promote Inclusive Excellence at the Academy! Operating within the Diversity & Global Learning model, the Office of Intercultural Engagement leverages global experiences, intercultural learning, and diversity awareness programming to promote a campus environment that is inclusive to all.

The successful candidate will work in collaboration with cadets, faculty, and staff to assist the Academy in reaching its goals of becoming a more diverse, global-minded, and culturally competent institution. The candidate will be responsible for events, programs, and trainings that promote awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus. This candidate will have the opportunity to advise a caseload of cadets/students that identify as first-generation, Pell-eligible and/or students with learning differences. They will also liaise with student clubs and organizations within the Student Government Association (SGA). This role will support the goals of the division to enhance recruitment and student success of students from the BIPOC community and other diverse populations through community and civic engagement pathways and partnerships. This candidate will receive cross-training in international education functions including global program support and international student services. 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 1-3 years relevant professional experience
  • Ability to travel and possess a valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and experience in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Experience working in an advising/mentoring capacity or student support program
  • Experience working with community organizations/volunteer work
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office suite as well as database management systems
  • Ability to work at a fast pace in a multi-faceted environment with a flexible schedule as required by meetings, functions, and deadlines, (and potentially some travel)
  • Demonstrated strong team-oriented attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in higher education, counseling, psychology, or related field
  • Fluency or proficiency in an additional language(s)
  • Prior experience in study abroad, international student services and/or experience working in a global/multicultural setting
  • Prior knowledge and experience in recruitment and retention of students from various backgrounds

Salary

$55,000-60,000 The Academy offers generous benefits policies and a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is exempt under FLSA. The Academy is not sponsoring immigration visas at this time.
