Meet 3/C Brad Nelson, a Marine Engineering major that calls Westwood, Massachusetts home.
Brad attended Sheehan Elementary School, Thurston Middle School, and Westwood High School.
Brad’s proud mom was eager to talk about her son. “Brad's grandfather served in the Navy and often told him interesting and sometimes funny Navy stories. They would also bond over watching Horatio Hornblower movies together. Brad's dad loved sailing and bought a catboat sailboat when Brad was about five years old, so he grew up sailing on Nantucket Sound with the family. At first, he didn't love it, but after a while he became much more comfortable on the water.”
Brad would like to thank every school, homeschool, and Scout troop that participated in the Follow The Voyage-Share The Experience Program. All of the cadets appreciated the support and encouragement from PreK-12 students from across the United States and around the world.
Remembering his grandfather's Naval stories, Brad would especially like to thank all of the schools that followed from Department Of Defense schools and military base schools.
