COVID-19 Volunteer Opportunities
The following agencies are seeking student support to assist with local and/or statewide Covid-19 operations. Please engage directly with the point of contact listed, and please follow up with Ms. McEnroe-Kent by email if you plan to begin working in one of the positions. Please check regularly as towns will be added as we receive them.
- The City of Worcester Emergency Manager is seeking immediate student volunteers to staff their emergency operations center (EOC), and their shelters and logistics branch during the coronavirus crisis. They MAY be able to provide berthing or accommodations for out-of-towners. Great opportunity to have a meaningful role in a real-world crisis. And as a volunteer, you can likely set your own hours and take breaks for class time. The point of contact is the Worcester EM Director, Ari Winograd at 508-769-7102.
- The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), is accepting MMA EM student volunteers for Emergency Operations Center (EOC) administration support. The positions are in the New Bedford location. Students must be an upperclassman for these positions and be available to commit for a minimum of two weeks.
