CERT/Shelter Training


Below is a group photo from our Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Class Graduation, 29 OCT 2019. Joseph Gordon, the CERT class instructor, is the Director of Emergency Management for the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Cummings was in attendance to congratulate all.


The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)/Sheltering program educates students about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.  Students are trained with the Shelter Field Guide, which provides best practices for shelter operations.
