Admiral William J. Flanagan Leadership Presentation
ADM William “Bud” Flanagan, Jr., USN (Ret.) '64, H'96 founded Noragh Analytics, Inc. in 2010 to bring unstructured analytics to commercial markets. This followed the successful establishment and sale of two companies, Skarven Enterprises and Kestrel Enterprises, to The Boeing Company in 2008. These companies provided software development of risk assessment technology and analytic services to commercial and government markets.
Upon retirement from the U.S. Navy as Commander in Chief, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, Flanagan joined Cantor Fitzgerald LLP as Senior Managing Director. He developed derivative products for emerging and unregulated energy markets, to include power, natural gas, oil and other traditional commodities. He has also provided strategic advice to a portfolio of U.S. and international technology firms, as well as to foreign clients, creating innovative business development opportunities, financial strategies and technology solutions.
Flanagan is a graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, American University and the Harvard Business School. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of IAP Worldwide Services and serves as a member of the Advisory Board to the Panama Canal Authority. He has served on the boards of public and privately held companies and not-for-profit organizations.
In 2016 Massachusetts Maritime Academy unveiled Flanagan Hall, formerly Blinn Hall, thanks to the generosity of Bud and his wife BA.
