    16th Annual Admiral's Ball
    November 5, 2010

The Admiral’s Ball is the Academy’s largest annual fundraiser. The mission of the event is to address $5,000,000 in unmet financial need among cadets every year. All of the Ball proceeds go toward Emery Rice scholarships, the Academy’s most rigorous scholarship program, specifically to help meet that need. A core group of Massachusetts Maritime Academy Foundation Board volunteers, as well as Academy staff, is presently working to increase net revenues of the event to $1,000,000.

Massachusetts Maritime Academy is pleased to announce that Mr. Geoffrey C. Wilkinson ’72, H’03, President and CEO of George T. Wilkinson, Inc., Wilkinson Mobile Boilers, Inc. and other related corporate entities, has been named as the Massachusetts Maritime Academy 2010 Maritime Person of the Year. The award will be presented to Mr. Wilkinson on November 5, 2010 at the 16th Annual Admiral’s Ball, being held at the InterContinental Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. More Information >>

    Thunderbird Classic Soars to Success

On Friday, June 25, over 100 golfers hit the links at Brookside Golf Club in Pocasset in support of the Annual Thunderbird Classic. Now in its fourth year, the tournament has evolved into a popular event among alumni, and is typically nearly sold out a year in advance. The Thunderbird Golf Classic was organized to support a scholarship to benefit a cadet at Massachusetts Maritime Academy who is the dependent of a member of the U.S. Armed Forces, on active or reserve duty. It was established in memory of Daniel Joseph Foley, who would have graduated with the Academy’s Class of 1975. Read More >>
