Offsite Accuplacer Examination

For those entering students who do not reside in the area and who do not visit MMA for a uniform fitting, it is sometimes possible to take the Accuplacer examination offsite. This is only permitted when a student lives more than 100 miles from the MMA campus.

Offsite testing requires a qualified proctor. Qualified proctors include personnel at college testing centers and high school guidance counselors. The following instructions must be followed to verify eligibility and arrange for an offsite examination:

1)  The student must contact either a local college or a high school guidance department and request that a qualified individual proctor the online (web-based) examination.

2)  The proctor should e-mail placement@maritime.edu to request instructions.

3)  The student should then schedule the examination with the proctor.

4)  The proctor (and only the proctor) should communicate with MMA regarding the examination or proctoring policies and procedures.

As soon as the student completes the examination, scores are automatically forwarded to MMA.

Please note: For his/her own information, the student should request the scores from the proctor before leaving the testing site.
