          THE ASSESSMENT AND ADVISING CENTER

Overview

The Assessment and Advising Center programs currently focus on assessment testing, life skills workshops, and college skills workshops. Its role is to assess and assist students as they make the transition to Massachusetts Maritime Academy, progress through their academic programs, and enter the workforce.

Academic Advising

Academic Advising is available at the Assessment and Advising Center. Two administrative advisers are available Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. during the regular academic semesters to assist students with general counseling, including degree audits, progress checks, planning semester coursework, course selection, and general questions about MMA requirements and degree programs. The advisers also interface with the Career Services Office and the Registrar's Office and can therefore assist students in a variety of career and academic areas.*

  • *Please note: These advisers are not intended to substitute for assigned faculty advisers. They offer supplemental advising and cannot clear students for registration, which only faculty advisers can do.
