Massachusetts Maritime Academy - About Us Instructional & Media Technology - About Us
The Instructional & Media Technology Department supports the Mission and Goals of Massachusetts Maritime Academy by providing support services and technology and instructional resources to the Academy. We serve faculty, departmental personnel, Cadets, and maritime professionals who use media in the classroom. We are dedicated to providing leadership, support, and accountability in using technology to enable effective education. We provide multimedia support for hundreds of events each year with a staff of media professionals who are well versed in our state-of-the-art teaching facilities.

In response to an increase in faculty and student interest with online and hybrid course development, I&MT Department has developed resources to help guide individuals and departments interested in learning more or experimenting in this rapidly changing arena.

The Instructional & Media Technology Department is also responsible for the acquisition, support and maintenance of Simulation Technology at the Academy. The nine simulation labs at MMA provide a highly reliable virtual environment which enables measurable assessment of individuals in training. With the ability to choose over 100 vessels, from a RIB to over 500 tons, in over 120 ports around the world -- the experience obtained is immeasurable. It’s as real as it gets without getting wet!
