Massachusetts Maritime Academy - Study Abroad Opportunities International Maritime Business - Study Abroad Opportunities
Being exposed to other cultures and ways of doing business is a critical component of succeeding in international maritime business.

IMB majors have the opportunity to participate in all of the international exchange programs.

Currently, we have two such study abroad programs:

In addition to these two semester abroad programs, there are two additional international programs in which IMB students can participate:
           
Each year six IMB majors are part of the group of twelve from Massachusetts Maritime Academy who live on the IMUP campus for six weeks. Students make day trips to shipyards, local businesses, safety organizations (including the Smithsonian Research Center, the Colon Free Trade Zone, and the Panama Canal including the lock systems. Students participate in training conducted by the Panama Canal Authority. Students also participate in cultural events and events hosted my Maritime alumni. The deadline for applying to this coop experience is September.
  • Haiti Project - cooperative experience attended during the winter term
Each year, six to a dozen cadets (including IMB majors) live and work on Ile la Vache and conduct relief support projects.
