General Statement of Duties: The Assistant Director/Capital Projects Manager assists the Director with coordinating assigned construction projects and related activities. Plans, directs, and supervises all activities related to capital projects.
Responsibilities: Assists in developing specification for construction, repair and modification projects as assigned (educational specifications, permits, project schedules, cost analysis, purchasing/bid time and construction). Assists in the creation of a campus wide multiyear capital construction/improvement plan for the purpose of preparing for increased enrollment. Coordinates capital construction activities such as renovations, inspections, contractor and architect meetings, permitting activities, mandated reports, project close-out and building commission activities. Ensures compliance with plans, specifications, local codes and ordinances. Maintains manual and electronic files or records, assists in preparing written materials, and assists the Director with the departmental budget. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field with at least 7 years experience. Possess a working knowledge of the construction trades, construction methods and techniques, and a working knowledge of the Massachusetts Building and Energy Codes. Knowledge and experience in formulating, applying for and securing of regulatory permits from federal, state, and local agencies. Training and experience in the management of capital projects.
Salary : $60,000-$70,000
