Reserve Campus Police Officer (part time, 20 hours a week or less)
The Massachusetts Maritime Academy Public Safety Department provides a safe and secure campus community through proactive steps of crime prevention and problem solving.
Responsibilities include: patrol campus grounds, buildings, and adjacent areas on foot or in a patrol vehicle to protect physical property and ensure the safety of visitors, staff, faculty, and students. Investigate complaints, conduct searches, mediate disputes, and insure compliance with all local and state laws, rules, and regulations. May be assigned other duties as required.
Applicants must possess: Intermittent Police Academy training (minimum); the ability to communicate effectively and give oral instructions in a precise, understandable manner; the ability to maintain accurate records and maintain a calm manner, make decisions and act quickly in stressful and emergency situations; the ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information; and knowledge of laws and operation of emergency management, communications, and monitoring systems.
This is a contract non-benefited position

4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.; 12:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.; 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
