Supervision received: Reports to Staff Associate, Payroll & Benefits Administrator
Responsible for the administration of student employment payroll. Provides support of contract employee payroll by reviewing and verifying employment contracts and supporting payroll forms. Verifies timesheet accuracy for entry in payroll system and reconciliation of bi-weekly payroll. Provides support for full time employee payroll by reviewing and verifying data necessary for processing of payroll. Aids in the administration and distribution of benefit information to prospective and current employees including insurance, retirement and deferred compensation. Attends state seminars and training on HRCMS, and other payroll and benefit related matters, to keep abreast of changes. Maintains payroll webpage. Supports Self-Service Time and Attendance (SSTA) as required. Additional duties as required to support Human Resources.
Qualifications and requirements:
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience with payroll processing and/or accounting or Associate’s degree in business administration or accounting. Competence with Microsoft Access, Excel and Word software programs. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain harmonious working relationships. Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner. Ability to work independently and meet critical deadlines. Ability to perform data input with accuracy and reasonable speed, to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions, and to work accurately with names, numbers, and records.
Experience with HRCMS/Commonwealth of MA payroll software.
