Wanted: Teachers, classrooms, students, troops and others interested in following the 2013 Sea Term
Follow the Voyage is a great way to apply STEM topics in a fun and surprising way. Reading blogs, answering questions, charting courses, learning nautical language, and figuring out geographical locations. While FTV is geared toward middle school students, anyone can participate and we welcome an enthusiastic crew!
We also have log books available to track the voyage virtually. Supplement FTV with research online and open a world few come to realize as this years sea term brings the Training Ship Kennedy to: New Orleans, Aruba, Bahamas, Jamiaca . Begin preparring for the voyage and check out the blog today. Suggested reading for any age to enhance the FTV experience: “Carry On, Mr. Bowditch” by Jean Latham, published by Houghton Mifflin A fictionalized biography of the life of the legendary Nathanial Bowditch, who is known as the grandfather of modern navigation.
