General Responsibilities: Teach an academic course load of 12 credits per semester in a variety of subjects such as: Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, HVAC, Electrical Machines, Power Distribution and accompanying labs Qualifications and Requirements: Significant teaching experience and/or relevant professional work experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient computer skills. Demonstrated ability to fulfill the evaluation criteria of college level teaching and advising. Understanding and dedication to the Academy’s unique mission. Tenure-track appointment at the Instructor level requires a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or closely related engineering discipline. Tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level or above requires either a:Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering OR Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a terminal degree in a related discipline. Preferred Qualifications: Any additional licenses or certifications related to marine, facilities, or energy engineering. State Professional Engineer (PE) license Desired Assets: Experience with assessment of student learning.
