General Statement of Duties: Provides clerical support for the Academic Resource Center. Composes and generates correspondence, prepares student employee contracts and paperwork, and ensures completion and accuracy of student employee timesheets and documentation collected during tutoring activities. Performs data entry for programs related to tutoring and first-year student program activities at the Academic Resource Center. As needed, performs data entry in support of the Institutional Effectiveness Office and the Academic Division. Enters purchase orders for the Academic Division. Coordinates offsite test proctoring at other institutions and proctors standardized testing weekdays and some weekends. Generates reports of standardized tests, maintains e-mail system for communicating testing policies and procedures for incoming students. Assists faculty with paperwork needs as required.
Qualifications: Applicants must have at least (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience working in an office. Education may be substituted for all or part of the requisite experience, with a degree in business management, business administration, or public administration being substituted for two years experience and a non-relevant degree being substituted for one year of experience. Ability to use Microsoft Office products and learn and utilize computer systems in support of academic programming. Ability to self-motivate, perform tasks and maintain productivity without immediate supervision in a dynamic and distracting environment. Communicate tactfully and effectively in an academic environment while maintaining an excellent rapport with and supportive attitude towards students. Ability to maintain confidential academic records. Aptitude for maintaining current and consistent data as part of ongoing programming and initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications: Clerical experience at an institution of higher education, with considerable familiarity with higher education practices, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of financial aid for student employees and admissions standards for incoming student placement testing.
