Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s Annual Admiral’s Gala will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 in the American Bureau of Shipping Information Commons on campus. The Admiral’s Scholarship Gala is the Academy’s largest annual fundraiser. The mission of the event is to address over $7,000,000 in unmet financial need among cadets every year and 100 percent of the Gala proceeds go toward scholarships. This year’s Gala will feature past and present recipients of the Emery Rice Scholarship, one of the Academy’s most competitive awards, and a state of the Academy presentation by Admiral Richard Gurnon. For over 100 years, Massachusetts Maritime Academy has been preparing women and men for careers on land and sea. As the nation's oldest co-ed maritime college, MMA challenges students to succeed by balancing a unique regimented lifestyle with a typical four-year college environment.
