Welcome to the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Business Office page. The Business Office is located on the second floor of the Harrington Building and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Mission: To provide excellent customer service to students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, campus departments and external organizations while maintaining an environment that values people and fosters respect.
The main activities of the Business Office include:
Student Accounts: Primary responsibilities include generating registration invoices each term, applying miscellaneous charges as they occur over the course of the semester, applying payments and outside scholarships as they come in, tracking health insurance enrollment/waivers, issuing book vouchers and refunds. Accounts Payable: Functions include verify, enter and process data for all invoices and check requests. As an administrative function, we ensure that all payment processes are in compliance with the laws, regulations and budgetary guidelines of the Academy and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
General Accounting: Responsible for recording the fiscal activity of the campus, to include review, research, analysis, reconciliation and accounting information processing. Also responsible for fiscal control and financial reporting.
Budget: Responsible for the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget, as well as analyzing and evaluating budget requests.
