Public Health Factsheet on Swine Flu
As
part of the Garrett Lee Smith Memorial Act, MMA was one of the 34 colleges
and universities across the nation to be awarded a Campus Suicide
Prevention Grant from SAMHSA. The funds form this grant are used to
develop educational seminars and provide training to MMA personnel and
cadets about prevention and risk factors such as depression and
substance abuse, while promoting help-seeking behaviors. In addition,
educational materials are available to families of students to increase
their awareness of potential mental and behavioral health issues which
may affect the overall performance of their students.
Professional standards of confidentiality are followed by all staff. Information discussed will not be disclosed without written permission. Rare exceptions to this policy exist when confidential information is needed to protect someone’s health or safety, or its release is mandated by law.
